Hey guys.
As I mentioned in my previous article, winters in Japan are just so cold.
It is so cold in Japan in winter that I think global warming is a lie.
On such a winter day, I feel like going to Okinawa, the southernmost prefecture in Japan.
It is really warm in Okinawa, with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius all year round.
Surrounded by the ocean, Okinawa is a great place to catch delicious fish.
Today I would like to share with you a lunch I had at a fish market in Okinawa.
Today I came to this market.
It is the most popular market in Okinawa. It is quite spacious and crowded.
There are many fish shops, look at this one.

Doesn't it look fresh?
When I go to markets overseas, I get a very bad smell, but not like that in Japan.
It's a clean place, and they only keep fresh fish.
Not only fish, but the shrimp looks good too.
Let's buy half of this big shrimp too.
It says the price is 550 yen, but I think this is less than 4 dollars.
You can eat a lot of sashimi for $4.
Isn't Japan wonderful?
If you go upstairs, there is a restaurant where they serve sashimi.
Take a look.
It's called "funamori" in Japan, and it's pretty gorgeous!
This blue fish doesn't look good, but it's not.
It was fresh, good texture, and delicious.
I also had miso soup made from shrimp shells and had Okinawan seaweed called umi budou.
The shrimp was about $5 for a half piece.
The umibudou were about $2.
Of course, the taste was delicious.
But I was surprised that it was only about 10 dollars for the whole meal.
Even for a Japanese person, I think it is low price.
Okinawan people don't make much money.
But they are enjoying their lives.
Okinawa has a lot of nature and beautiful ocean.
It is a place that many Japanese long to visit.
I would like to introduce the beautiful scenery of Okinawa someday.
See you soon!
