Hey everyone. How are you doing?
It's winter in Japan in December, and it's getting quite cold.
The temperature is about 10 degrees Celsius.
Japan is a great place with four seasons.
But when the seasons change, everyone usually catches a cold!
This article is about the lunch I had today.
I won't know what's interesting to people overseas until I publish the article.
I'd like to get lots of opinions and comments.
What I had today was a fish ramen set.
What? No fish on it?
That's right.
Japan has a culture of dashi (Japanese soup stock).
For more information on dashi, please refer to wikipedia.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dashi
Today I had ramen with dashi broth made from red snapper.
It's my favorite.
Look at this delicious picture.
For lunch, most of the restaurants offer a limited lunch menu, and I think today's lunch came with a bowl of chashu (pork) rice.
There are countless ramen shops in Japan, and I consider the red snapper ramen is good in their broth.
It may have a little bit of a fishy smell, but it's very appealing to Japanese people who love seafood.
There's a little bit of yuzu on top to take away the smell.
The noodles are smooth and very tasty.
But the soup is the main part of ramen.
It is full of warming soup with just the right amount of salt.
By the way, you can leave the soup.
You might think you have to eat all of it, but that is not true.
If you drink all of it, you will have too much salt. You will die prematurely.
Most people leave the soup behind.
That's not bad manners or anything.
I have heard that ramen is a luxury food in other countries.
How much is ramen in your area?
Let me know in the comments!
See you soon!
Fish based broth sounds delightful! I can’t find any where I am from it’s usually tonkotsu based only. Please continue posting I love reading your posts 😄
